1990
The cooperative concept was introduced to the TIMPOBIA member-irrigators of Timbaboy, Poblacion B through the Department of Agrarian Reform’s Farmers Cooperative and Exchange Program, jointly undertaken with the Mindanao Alliance of Self-help Societies (MASS-SPECC).
1991
MIFAMCO was formally organized by 15 founding farmer-members under the leadership of founding chairperson Norma G. Bendicion.
July 22, 1992
MIFAMCO acquired juridical personality after registering with the Cooperative Development Authority as a marketing cooperative. It began as a self-help group with ₱32,500 in capital invested by 65 founding farmer-members.
1998
Eighty-eight farmer-members joined through bayanihan to construct an office in Poblacion B, Midsalip, for the cooperative’s Savings and Credit Services.
March 25, 1999
MIFAMCO Savings and Credit Services was formally launched with ₱88,000 contributed by 88 farmer-members. That year, diversified business activities transformed MIFAMCO into a multi-purpose cooperative.
2004
MIFAMCO acquired its first farm, planted with fruit trees and corn.
October 20, 2005
The MIFAMCO Molave Branch opened.
June 8, 2006
The MIFAMCO Pagadian Branch opened.
2007
MIFAMCO opened branches in Buug and Ipil, and held its first General Assembly.
2013
The Cacao Demo Farm became MIFAMCO’s first property dedicated to cacao production and agricultural development.
2015
MIFAMCO opened its first Hostel and Catering Services branch.
2021
MIFAMCO showcased its cacao products at the first Kakao Festival, organized by DTI with the local government. It also joined ZAMPEX 2021 and the ZamSur Mini Trade Fair, building stronger market connections for its cacao products.
2022
MIFAMCO joined the second Kakao Festival, the Mindanao-wide SM Cacao Mindanao Chocolate Fair, Business Week+ Expo, the Mindanao Tourism Roadshow, and a Trade and Business Mission in Singapore. It also opened a new Timbaboy office and expanded nationwide through online shopping platforms.
2025
MIFAMCO was hailed as the Most Progressive Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries’ Organization in the Large Category at Gawad Agraryo 2025 in San Juan City, receiving a plaque and a ₱50,000 cash award.
Today
MIFAMCO continues serving members and communities through its programs and diversified services, supporting livelihoods, financial well-being, and opportunities for growth.
